Woodland Management Seminar

Making decisions about how to manage a forest can challenge even the most experienced natural resource manager. To help land owners and natural resource managers answer these questions, the Virginia Sustainable Forestry Initiative Committee developed a series of short courses. Tidewater Resource Conservation and Development Council is hosting the Woodland Options on Saturday, February 9, 2008 in West Point at the Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation.

Topics included in the session are:

  • Getting to Know Your Woods
  • Establishing Your Objectives
  • Getting Professional and Financial Assistance
  • Land Use Conservation Strategies
  • Forest Ecology
  • Wildlife Management

According to John Magruder, the new RC&D Forestry Committee Chairperson, "This is a real opportunity to gain a wealth of knowledge in a short period of time."
